November 13, 2024 is known as National World Kindness Day and is celebrated as a reminder to always remain kind, no matter the situation. The definition of kindness is “The quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.” Having that characteristic of kindness is something every person should strive to have and maintain. Kindness is so important, not only on November 13th, but every other day of the year as well! Kindness can improve mental health and over-all well being. It is shown to increase self-esteem, empathy, and compassion!
Kindness is beyond important and is a characteristic everyone should have. Being kind is completely free and can ultimately save someones life. You never know what someone is going through, or how their home life is, so when they come to school and see you give them that smile or a simple “good morning,” it creates a feeling of being wanted and loved. People have evolved to hide the way they feel and the things they are going through, but as a peer, kindness is as simple as a gesture or a smile, and is never to be passed up! Don’t forget to be kind and smile 🙂
