Montevallo High School students get invited to attend RYLA. They will attend on February 16 through 18. RYLA 2023 will take place at the U.S Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Program is an intensive leadership training program for high school students. The program consists of discussions with skilled and prominent leaders, group and team building activities, leadership training, good food, and a mini space camp. Students are selected by their academic achievements, school activities, hobbies and recreational interests. 

Three students were selected to attend from Montevallo HIgh School, Trinity Stoutermire, Madison Peters and Dara Hernandez. When asking Trinity Stoutermire how she felt about going to the RYLA camp she said, “I’m excited and ready to learn new things.” When asking Dara Hernandez what she looks forward to most she said, “Most definitely the leadership and meeting new people.” These students are very excited to learn new things, meet new people and have a good experience overall.
