The month of March is set aside to honor women’s contributions in history. It also celebrates women’s achievements and advocating for gender equality. Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Katherine Johnson are all notable women of history, who have very huge achievements that have historical significance. It is so important to understand that Women’s History Month is a global celebration and brings light to all of the hard work these and many more important women have put in to influence history!
Rosa Parks is known for her resistance of racial segregation. The actions she took with the bus situation was a pivotal moment in the civil rights struggles. Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly alone across the Atlantic. This encouraged women around her to follow their dreams, even if they sod not see achievable! Eleanor Roosevelt changed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by being the first Chairperson of the Commission on Human Rights. Katherine Johnson had important roles contributing to the success of early space missions by her amazing work at NASA! All of these women are great encouragements to women of today! Even if you think you can not make a difference… YOU CAN! You matter just as much as these women of history do!
