Veterans Day is a federal holiday celebrated on November 11th every year in the United States. Veterans Day is a different holiday than Memorial Day. Memorial Day is day to honor military members who died in action and Veterans Day honors ALL military members. Veterans Day is to thank all veterans for their time and dedication for our country. Veterans Day is celebrated through ceremonies and hanging of the wreath at the Tomb of Unknowns.
Here at Montevallo High School, we hold a Veterans Day Program usually the day of to recognize veterans for their dedication. However, this year, we are holding the Program on November 8, 2024 since we are out of school on Veterans Day. This program will take place at the front of the school in Liberty Lane.
