Lady Dogs progress to Sweet 16

The Lady Bulldogs continued to dominate on the court, Monday, Feb. 12, as they rallied past the Beulah Bobcats in sub-regional play. With the win, the Lady Dogs improved their record to 26-5.

“It was a good win and I was just glad we were able to get the job done,” senior Alasha Reed said.

It did not take long for the Bulldogs to heat up, outscoring the Bobcats 21-7 in the first quarter.  Although Bobcats continued to battle, the Dogs added an additional 18 points in the third quarter, to put the game out of reach.

“We all put forth effort and were able to come out with a great team win,” senior Lauryn Lilly said.

The team was led by Lilly who posted 26 points and Reed who had an additional 14 points.

“Our defense was great tonight, we prepared and executed well which led to a great win,” senior Shamia Smith said

The Lady Dogs will advance to the Sweet 16 where they will play the Midfield Patriots at 9:00 a.m, Monday, Feb. 19 at Alabama State University.
