Montevallo’s Peer Helpers, in conjunction with coach Davidson’s and Nelson’s classes, are giving back to the community this Holiday season by collecting toiletry items for My Sister’s Place.

“The Peer Helpers wanted to have a service project that would benefit people in our community,” sponsor Lee Pastor said. “My Sister’s Place is wonderful organization that provides new beginnings and wanted to do what we can do to help.”

My Sister’s Place is a recovery center for women, who want a new start at life. The gift bags will be delivered Thursday, Dec. 15, for present and future residents.

Items needed include toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, and shampoo.

“The amount of support we have received from the high students by bringing in items has been amazing,” Peer Helper Tristan Johnson said.  “We are emptying full boxes every day.”

Items are currently being collected in History classes.
