The 17th of February is known as Random Acts of Kindness Day. This day is observed to give people all over the world the opportunity to spread kindness and create a positive environment by thoughtful actions. Here at Montevallo High School, members of Dawg Impact (peer helpers) write positive and encouraging messages on sticky notes and place them around the school. Sometimes, those words of encouragement can be so fitting to your situation, that it can help you and make you feel better. The peer helpers also make random compliments to students and staff here at Montevallo High School in hopes to make people smile and feel positively about themselves.
February 17th should not be the only day kindness is spread. Everyone deserves to be shown kindness every day. The saying “you never know what someone is going through” is so full of truth and is a great mentality to have. People fight silent battles. Just because someone does not open ups regarding their struggles, does not mean they do not have them! With that being said, it is very important to be kind not only on this specific day, but to show love and grace to those around you each and every day! Making people smile and feel appreciated can also fill your bucket and make you feel like a good person as well! Let everyday be a day filled with love and kindness 🙂
