The 2024-2025 school year has started and time is passing quickly. The way time flies is such a crazy concept to understand, and it just seems to pass by quicker each day. The days seem so long when we are living in the moment, but all we can do is enjoy every second and never take anything for granted. This year is my last, as I am beginning the last chapter of my childhood. It feels like just yesterday, that I was in elementary school with my classmates. Time has passed by too quickly, but I am so excited to watch all of our futures unfold. I believe some of my fellow classmates feel the same way as I do. I will ask the following questions to some of the seniors here at Montevallo High School. 1) How do you feel about being a senior this year? 2) What are you looking forward to the most? 3)If you could give one piece of advice to the underclassmen, what would it be?
Katie Bell said “The fact that we are seniors is so bittersweet. I honestly can not believe it.” Connor Shores said “I feel like days go by slow but the years fly by. I can not believe we are seniors, it is crazy.” Grayson Duckworth said “It is hard to believe we are seniors and time has passed slowly but quickly. We’ve all grown up and have experienced so much.” To answer the second question, Bell said “I am looking forward to homecoming, prom, and graduation.” Shores stated “I am looking forward to all of the home games for each sport, but most definitely ready for baseball season.” “I am looking forward to baseball season and bringing my team together to do our absolute best. I am ready to give it my all and leave the rest up to God,” said Duckworth. To answer the third and final question, Bell said “Do not change yourself to fit in. Be true to yourself. Try everything. Walk fast in the hallways!” Connor Shores said “If I could give one piece of advice to the underclassmen, it would be “DO YOUR WORK! If you don’t, it will catch up to you in the long run. Also, make all the memories you can with your friends.” Finally, Duckworth said “Don’t try and do too much, don’t let immaturity take over. Do not worry so much about other people, just do you!”
After reading these statements from a few seniors here at MHS, it is evident that each of us recognizes the way time passes so quickly. We all realize how fast high school truly flies by, and we find relation in the lessons we have learned. As a senior, I would personally advise you to get involved, stay on top of your work, try your best, and have all the fun you can! It will be over in the blink of an eye!
