Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. Bullying can be in the form of physical contact, words, or any other negative behavior directed towards someone. Bullying can cause someone to hurt physically, mentally, and/or emotionally. People usually bully other people because of jealousy. Jealousy is normally the roots of bullying. Bullies tend to normalize being rude to other people, and they try to encourage other people to start bullying people as well.
Bullying can lead to someone harming themselves, and that is something that should be avoided at all costs. If you hear of someone being bullied, I would encourage you to report it as quickly as possible to an adult or someone that can handle the situation in a timely manner. As a bystander, I would also encourage you to stand up to the bully and make it clear that bullying is NOT okay! A statement that is commonly said, “If you see something, say something,” should be taken into consideration, especially in the times we live in. The world is becoming so cruel, and bullying is being a normal act.
As we go forward with our lives, I would encourage everyone to speak up about bullying and bring more awareness to it. Bullying is not something that should be normalized, and something that should be handled as quickly as possible. I would hope and pray that bullying will slack off some in the near future. Also, I pray that people will have enough courage to stand up to bullies. Always remember, “If you see something, say something!”
