MHS has a new social worker named Mrs. Kayla Redick.  

She is from Birmingham, Alabama. She went to school at Troy University to study to become a social worker. She wanted to become a social worker because  she had a desire to help people and communities find the  resources to meet their needs. She is excited to be at MHS because she knows that there are many people she can help. Social workers are important in school systems to help students manage and understand their mental health needs. 

In her free time she likes spending time with her husband, dogs, and friends. She also likes being outdoors and playing golf. A fun fact about Mrs.Redick is that she’s very adventurous. She has ben swimming with sharks and has gone skydiving. She said the word that best describes her is compassionate. She chose this word  because she is not only a social worker but a friend too. She believes that you should show compassion to the people that you come in contact with because of the golden rule  which states “to treat others how you want to be treated”.

Thank you Mrs. Redick for coming to Montevallo High School. We know that you will do amazing things here. We can’t wait to see the impact you have at MHS! .
