Everyone knows that things go on behind the scenes at Montevallo High School, but we don’t know the people in charge of doing it all. One of those people is our registrar Mrs.Cartagena.
“My name is Mrs. Cartagena and I am from Puerto Rico. I came to the USA in 2014 to the state of Florida. I moved to Alabama at the end of 2016. I have a bachelor’s degree in Administration. I am the registrar for Montevallo High School and I chose this path because it allows me to help the community. Part of my job is to guide parents and students through the enrollment process and withdrawals and be sure that they have all the documentation they need and assure the Hispanic families understand. I work on entering attendance and excuses for the students. Also, I file those excuses for the school year just in case I need them as a reference. I work together with the school counselor on the student’s transcripts. I provide access to information for the school program, I also provide access to the teacher’s grade books and run reports every quarter to be sure all the grades entered are correct. I love the students and the people who work in this school and every day I feel fulfilled with all the help that I can provide to anyone.”
Thank you to Mrs.Cartagena for all the things that you do for MHS!
