Montevallo High School’s FEA (Future Educators of America) club hosted “Parents Night Out” on Friday, February 7. From 5:30 to 9:30, members of FEA slipped into their comfiest pajamas and babysat children from all around Montevallo, Alabaster, and Wilton.

Mrs. Cabrera, sponsor of the FEA club stated, “It has become an annual tradition each Christmas and Valentine’s to watch the children in the community.”

The children watched movies, did arts and crafts, played games, Legos, and playdough with the members. There was tons of food too! From buffalo dips and cake dip to gummies and chips, the children had a blast socializing the night away. There were “over 80 children” attending Friday’s night event. The kids loved hanging out with their peers and high schoolers.

The FEA collected donations throughout the night, raising over $200! Cabrera and FEA will use members will use “the money toward teacher appreciation week.”

The Future Educators of America club plan on keeping the tradition and continuing hosting the “Parent’s Night Out” event during Christmas and near Valentines in the years to come.
