Taking off with FCCLA

FCCLA is a career technical club that is run by family and consumer science teacher Mrs.Carter. The club presidents are juniors Kali Yancy and Campbell Cost. Jenna Nabors and Niesha Piper of the event coordinators for the organization. FCCLA stands for Family Career and Community Leaders of America.
FCCLA’s mission is “Focusing on the multiple roles of family members, wage earners, and community leaders. Members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.”
Next month the FCCLA club will be having career week. During career week all the career tech organizations are spotlighted. Also, next month during the week of Valentine’s Day the club will be having FCCLA week where they will sell boo grams as a fundraiser for the club.
Tamyjah Sullens says “I have been in FCCLA for two years and that the club has helped me to care more about serving others.”
President Campbell Cost says that “The organization has really started growing and I’m excited to be a part of all the competitions and activities they will be participating in this year.”
