Supper with Santa
December 18, 2019
On Thursday, December 5th, Montevallo Elementary School held their 4th annual Supper With Santa. This is a time where the students of MES can come together at the school and do fun activities while getting to eat and visit with Santa and Mrs.Claus.
One of the games was a cakewalk, similar to musical chairs. The students walked around a Christmas tree while music played and as the music stopped the students had to sit down and try to be the last one left. The winners of the game got prizes. They also had vendors for food and dessert including Frios, the Tamale Truck. MES PTO sold goodies as well. They put together silent auction baskets. Most of them were made with donations from local and surrounding businesses.
The children and their parents got to visit, take pictures, and chat with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The kids got to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.
PTO member Kristi Deerman said, “Supper and Santa is always a fun event! We are grateful for the community businesses and MES parents who support us all the time as we work to support the children and MES! I think every always enjoys this event…who doesn’t love Santa???”
Overall it was a great way to start the Christmas season!
