On Friday December 6, 2019 Montevallo’s Future Teachers held a night filled with lots of fun activities and laughter. For the past few years the FTA has held Parents Night Out which is a night for the parents to go on a date, spend time together, get Christmas shopping done and whatever else they need to get done while knowing that their children are in good hands of the FTA members. 

        Parents left their kids with FTA at the high school lunchroom and they had a fun night. During the night, they watched countless movies, played lots of games, sang karaoke, ate snacks and so much more. 

     FTA sponsor Dawn Cabrera has supervised Parents Night Out for several years. Mrs. Cabrera said “I love parents night out! It’s one of my favorite night of the year. This is also one of FTA’s biggest nights of the year!” 

      All of the FTA members said they enjoyed Parents Night Out. Some even said that they had more fun than the kids did. 

Kinley Edwards is a senior at Montevallo, and the historian for Future Teachers. “My favorite part from parents night out was spending time with all the kids and making sure they have a fun time. I also enjoyed spending time dancing and singing with the members of FTA.” 

         This event was a huge success, lots of kids attended and FTA members can’t wait for next year. The next FTA  Parents Night Out will be on February 7th 2020.
