On November 14th, Mrs. Johnson took her music appreciation class and her choir to see an opera at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Upon our arrival the students took pictures in the lobby, and pictures of the setup before the opera started. 

When asked how she felt about the performance, Jazmine Davis stated, “During the opera it was very dramatic, loud, and the musicians that were in the pit did a really good job staying on cue with the movements of the director and the lights coordinators.” 

After the event, the students went to the Brookwood Mall, where we ate lunch in the food court. The group then proceeded to make their way back to Montevallo. 

Students hope that this experience will become a new tradition at MHS.
