Mrs.Panzica, the ESL teacher at Montevallo High, has been awarded Teacher of the Year. She has been at Montevallo since August 2018. Prior to that, she worked for 12 years teaching Family Literacy and  teaching foreign language.

It is easy to see that education is important to Mrs. Panzica. She stated “Education is a gift no one can take away from you. While working with families, I realized how a good education improves one’s chances of succeeding in life, and how much the children benefit from having high expectations at home.”

Mrs. Panzica enjoys “making personal connections with each student as an individual who deserves respect and trust.” She says “Each student has a unique story to tell.”

One sophomore student stated, “ Ms.Panzica deserves the spot of teacher of the year because she works very hard in order for every student to understand the material and succeed.”

Another senior student stated, “She is very engaging and hardworking. She does everything in order for a student to get the best education they can.”
