Fifteen girls will perform during the Marching Troubadours half-time show next fall after being selected during auxiliary tryouts, Friday, March 10.

“I think this year is going to be a great season for auxiliary,” dance line captain Jordynn Thomas said.  “Although, we have a good bit of rookie members it’s going to be fun to watch them progress over the course of the year. I’m excited for the connections I’m going to make with the girls over the season and I’m hoping that this year sparks a passion in the new girls.”

Three groups make up the auxiliary squad: majorettes, dance line and color guard.  Three girls were selected as majorettes:  juniors Sydney Selman and McKenley Brantley and sophomore Elizabeth Houston.

“I am excited to see where we can go this year,” Selman.  “This will be our third year together.  I am hoping for a successful competition season.”

Next year’s dance line team will include juniors Grace Stermer, Mackenzie Johnson, and Thomas;  sophomores Hannah Sommers and Myah Webb; freshman Emily Anne Smith; and eighth grader AJ Race.

“Dance line has helped me find a group of people I can connect with,” Stermer said.  “I’m really looking forward to continuing that connection.”

Color guard will include sophomores Chasity Brantley and Kaitlyn DuChene; freshman Aubrey Moreland; and eighth graders Isabelle Carbelja and Haley Pogue

“I think this year will be one to remember,” sponsor Dawn Cabrera said.  “I’m really looking forward to working with this group of girls.”
