Montevallo High School held their first pep rally for the football team as they prepared to face off against the West Blocton Tigers, Friday August 26. Coach Brandon Wilcox encouraged the student body to come out and support the team.

“Come out tonight, make some noise, bring the energy, and we are going to get the ‘W’ against West Blocton,” Wilcox said. “We’re number one.”

Students were confident of win against West Blocton.

“I know we’re going to win,” senior Tae Smith said. “Dogs on top. We are not going to lose.”

During the pep rally, the band played several stand tunes and the cheerleaders performed their camp dance.  Afterwards the seniors claimed the spirit stick for showing the most spirit during the class cheer.

“The whole atmosphere of everybody at the pep rally was exciting and the team is ready for the game,” volleyball coach and U.S. History teacher Tena Niven said. “The Bulldog family is very supportive of the football team. I think the outcome will be 45 to 20.”
