Dawgs suffer loss in home opener

Maria Gallo and Lizbet Salazar

On Friday, August 26, Montevallo opened its season against Shelby County. The Dawgs took a loss against the Wildcats 21-6. The Dawgs fought hard, but it was still not enough for them to beat the Wildcats. Their lead scorer was Anthony Martin scoring their only touchdown of the night. The Dawgs could improve their next win as stated by Coach Langer. “Having the defense tackle better while in play, lining up correctly and playing with toughness,” just in general having teamwork makes a dream work. A way to improve their game said junior, Javon Rogers “being more prepared and executing better on their defense and offense“ they just need more teamwork and effort in their execution. Also stated by another player Tyler Gentry, “working as a team and staying on the same page while playing together can improve our gaming skills.”  Trying these strategies would help them improve for their next game.

We are proud even though the Dawgs lost, they still have time to improve this year.

Come and support the Dawgs this Friday at home, for their Senior Night.

GO DAWGS!!!!
