Montevallo Bulldogs!! Football season is finally here. The first game of the season is Friday, August 26th against Shelby County . Come out and support the Dawgs. The football team had a good season last year, making it to the playoffs.  The football players and coaches have been working long and hard for this upcoming season.

The football team has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season. Head coach Franklin Boren said, “ We were here all summer long, three days a week and did multiple OTA events this summer to try and prepare us. We feel like we are ready to go. It’s been an 8 month process now building off of what we did last year and we are excited to play Friday night.”

When also asking Coach Boren what they were gonna do better from last year. He had to say, “Well every season is a new year, what we need to do Friday night is figure out what the identity of this team is and obviously being the first game we quite don’t know that. Ultimately, we want to provide leadership with a good senior class and we want to lay a good foundation to have the most successful year that we can.”

The players are ready and excited for the season. Senior Brantley Burk believes it is important for the upperclassmen to be leaders and role models in order to have a successful season. Burk also said that personally he has done, “lots of working out and eating healthy to get [his] body in shape for a great season.”

Come out and support the Bulldogs in their home opener on Friday August 26th at Theron Fisher Stadium.
