Montevallo tennis takes on Leeds Greenwave

Justus Anderson and Campbell Cost

The Bulldogs’ Tennis team headed to Leeds to take on the Green Wave on February 13.

The girls won 2 matches and tied another two. One of these was a singles match won by Melissa Scott. The match was close but Melissa led for the entire match and the score was 6-5. The second win was a doubles match won by Tyti Harris and Leslie Langley the score was 6-3.

The boys only won one match, but it was a great win by Campbell Cost. Campbell played the number two player from Leeds and easily won the match 8-2.

When asked how he felt about playing Leeds Taven Dubose said, “I enjoyed playing them because they were very polite, and the games were pretty evenly matched.”

Towards the end of the matches, while four games were going, the transformer box “blew up” and all the lights went out. The rest of the games had to end as they were, but these games were all potential wins for the girls.

After this match, the tennis team hopes only to improve their record against Central Tuscaloosa on Thursday, February  20.
