Dawgs Claim Victory over Choctaws

Morgan Honeycutt and Jaden Moody

On Friday, January 24th the Montevallo Bulldogs faced the Bibb County Choctaws in one of the biggest rivalry games of the season. Going into this game Montevallo’s record was 19-6. In the end, the Bulldogs pulled through with a win with a score of 67-60.

The lead scorers of this game were Michael Jones, Jabrian Sullens, and Kial Cottingham. Senior Jabrian Sullens scored 16 points and had 6 rebounds throughout the game. Sophomore Michael Jones had 22 points and sophomore Kial Cottingham had 9 points and 5 steals.

Coach Greg Dickenson said “The game went just like we planned. Both teams went on runs to make the game exciting. Montevallo’s defense continued to force Bibb County to turn the ball over. If we continue to play hard defense then these boys should have a chance to go all the way. #saynomo”

Coach Tena Niven states, “ I’m very proud of how the boys held their ground. It’s very difficult to play down there especially on their senior night.”

All in all the Dawgs had a great game against the Choctaws last night!
