This 2020 year Montevallo High School’s soccer team has officially begun their season. The team had a parent meeting on Wednesday night Jan 15 in the PAC to discuss their schedule plans, away games, and details for their upcoming tournaments. They also discussed meal plans for the players and announced that any type of schedule changes for the games could be expected. This year the team has 16 games and two tournaments scheduled. The season officially starts next week on January 20th. The team will start practicing 4-5 days a week to train hard and get prepared for the season. Tournaments usually involve 2-3 games depending on how the team does in each game.

Current Montevallo High School soccer player and senior Wilmarie Oquendo stated, “I am extremely excited to start this season. This is my last year playing and I hope we play amazing at every game. I am excited to play with my teammates one last time.”

Asia Prentice also stated, “This season’s schedule looks interesting and I think we will win many games. I am a senior and I am excited to soon be on the field with my teammates one last time and I believe it will be a great season for everyone.”

The guys’ and girls’ first game will be on February 10th and will be at home. MHS students and parents come out and support our soccer team!
