Baseball evaluations underway
November 19, 2019
The MHS baseball program is participating in fall evaluations this week. The Dawgs are looking for a successful season with eight returning starters on the roster this season. The team having this much experience from the starters puts MHS in a great environment to thrive and compete with any opponent. After being put out of the first round of the playoffs, the boys are looking for a deep run in the class 4A state playoffs this season. The Bulldogs finished the 2018-19 season with a record of 18-13, while finishing runner up in the area, only behind Oak Grove. Along with a winning record, two players from Montevallo were included on the All-County team for Shelby County, (senior) Josh Mims, and (junior) Cody Posey.
The team was asked, “What is your main goal for the program this upcoming season?”
Senior, Josh Mims said his main goal for the team this season is to “get better as a team and out work everyone.”
Senior, Grant Cordes claimed, “Our main goal this season is to win it all. We are gonna go out and compete against everyone and make our names known.”
