Bulldogs shutout Hornets on road

Montevallo blew away the Dallas County Hornets with a 14-0 victory on the road with quarterback Malik Inabinette throwing for 241-yards and 4 touchdowns.

“We came out ready to play,” Inabinette said.  “Our offensive line played great giving me time to throw the ball and our defensive line was able to complete a shutout.”

Montevallo scored first with a 51-yard touchdown pass to junior Thaddeus Evans by Inabinette.

“We came into the game prepared to well,” Evans said.  “And did so by answering with my first touchdown early in the game.”

The Hornets were unable to do anything offensively with the Bulldogs scoring 20 points in the second quarter points.  

By half-time the Dogs were up 27-0. Inabinette threw touchdown passes to junior Isa Harris and junior Jemari Harris. Junior Deon Gilliland scored off of a 10 yard touchdown run.  Sophomore Orlandis Weeks added the two-point conversion.

“It was a good play call by the coach,” I. Harris said.  “The line blocked great giving Malik time to get the ball off and put me in a situation to score the touchdown.”  

Montevallo scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, closing out the game’s scoring, 41-0.  Inabinette scored the first one on a 1-yard touchdown run and threw the ball to Evans for a 15-yard touchdown pass for the second score. Gilliland ran in a two-point conversion.
Inabinette completed 19 of 25 passes for the night.  Gilliland led the Dogs with 93 yards rushing. Evans led the team with receiving yards of 105.
