The Lady Bulldogs Basketball team hit the road to get some area play taken care of on Friday, Jan. 13. The Bulldogs started the double header off against Northside, but the Bulldogs came up short in double overtime against the Rams, ending the game with a score of 48-45. Junior Kiah Smith led the Bulldogs with 12 points, followed by senior Kayla Cunningham’s eight.
“It was a tough loss,” Smith said. “We played a very good game but came up short.”
Next, the ladies faced a tough Greensboro team; the final score was 65 to 18 in a Bulldog loss.
“Greensboro is very good, and perhaps the best team in division 3A,” freshman Amilyia Farrington said. “We went hard in the paint and played our hearts out.”
Smith scored seven points leading the Bulldogs followed by Farrington’s four.
“Greensboro is the number one team in 3A, and I expect to see them in the final four,” Coach Niven said. “We played a great game against Northside, but they beat us by a shot. We had many missed opportunities and were unable to capitalize.”
