August 22, 2019
Montevallo High hired a new, young, fun, and ambitious English teacher to their staff this year. Her name is Ms.Anna Grace Beck. Fellow faculty members and her students have welcomed her with open arms!
Beck teaches 10th grade English, sponsors cheerleading, and is hoping to sponsor a Film Club and a Paranormal Investigations Club. She enjoys exploring haunted places, watching crime and murder mystery shows, spending time with her friends and family, and reading true crime novels.
Ms.Beck is from Vestavia HIlls, Alabama. She graduated from Vestavia HIlls High School. She then decided to further her education at UAB. Beck graduated from UAB. Even though she is from a big city, she enjoys the small town feel.
Beck states, “I love the small town feel. I feel like everyone knows everyone. It seems like everyone is there for each other in a small town and wants each other to succeed.”
Beck looks forward to many things as the school year moves forward. She states “ I am looking forward to getting to know and build strong relationships with my students. I am also looking forward to football season with my cheerleaders.”
She also has many goals for the 2019-2020 school year. She mentions, “My goal for this year is to incorporate student ideas and interests into as many lessons as I can to better engage my students.
Sophomore Annakate Deerman says, “ She’s a good teacher. Cares about her students. Very understanding. She’ll try to help you with anything.”
Montevallo High is super excited to work with Ms.Beck and we are looking forward to many memories!
