Troubadours perform at Shelby County Showcase

The Marching Troubadours attended the Shelby County Showcase of Bands at Heardmont Park hosted by Oak Mountain High School, Tuesday, Sept. 26. Bands in attendance included Vincent High School, Shelby County High School, Calera High School, Chelsea High School, and Oak Mountain High School.
“Going into the Showcase I was nervous, but very excited to see the other bands and get feedback on our performance,” senior Sydney Selman said.
The Troubadours were led by new band director, Lindsey Underwood and drum major, Nate Pepper. They Performed four songs consisting of “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World, “Home” by Phillip Phillips, drum break by Thomas Frost, and “Carry On” by Fun. At the end of the Showcase, all participating bands performed “America the Beautiful”.
“The America the Beautiful performance was absolutely fantastic,” junior Amanda Buttgereit said..
Throughout the showcase three qualified assessors gave the Troubadours feedback that will help them improve their show for upcoming competitions.
