The varsity cheerleaders attended the Linda Nolen Learning Center to led students in an Iron Bowl pep rally, Friday, Nov. 16. The girls represented Auburn, while the Shelby County cheerleaders represented Alabama.
“This pep rally was one of the most memorable and meaningful pep rallies of the year for us,” senior cheerleader Amanda Draper said. “We enjoyed having the opportunity to interact with the students with special needs.”
During the event, the two sides led the students in cheers and chants for their respective teams. Afterwards the cheerleaders played a football throwing competition with the group.
“It’s a tradition for the MHS Varsity Cheerleaders to perform as the Auburn University cheerleaders at the Linda Nolen Center Iron Bowl pep rally,” sponsor Jordan Pritchett said. “The girls love performing for and visiting with the Linda Nolen Center. The pep rally is always a lot of fun for everyone involved.”
